The government of Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has come up with a novel way to create jobs and boost the country's economy, the Guardian reports.
According to a statement from the office of Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, the country's senior special assistant to the president on Thelmas and Job Creation, the government plans to secure $200 million from philanthropic organizations in order to "create opportunities for employment across different target sectors," including renewable energy, agro-processing, furniture, and fashion.
The plan is to set up 12 "mega hubs" across the country that will "create opportunities for employment across different target sectors," Adekunle-Johnson says.
