"I am overjoyed with the success of Elevate District 5," says Miami-Dade County Commissioner Eileen Higgins, who's spent the past two years helping more than 500 small businesses in her district get started and more than 1,000 get engaged.
The Miami-Dade program, named after Joe Biden's American Rescue Plan to help Americans recover from the Covid-19 virus, is funded with $1.8 million from the federal government, reports the Miami Herald.
"I am proud to announce that in two years, over 500 businesses have participated in the program while engaging with another 1,000," Higgins says in a press release.
"As the program continues to empower entrepreneurs and foster economic resilience, I remain committed to supporting small businesses and collaborate with partners in order to drive positive change in District 5."
