When it comes to keeping their personal information safe from hackers, it's not just their parents who need to worry.
"We don't often think about our children needing to worry about our children needing to worry about cyberattacks and having their information stolen, but it's crucial that our next generation is aware and well prepared to handle these challenges," says Steve Garrison of Stellar Cyber, which has teamed up with three minor league baseball teams to launch Don't Click It, Pitch It!, a program designed to keep kids safe from cyber threats.
The nonprofit has joined with the Lake County Corn Dogs, Oakland Ballers, and Ogden Raptors to launch the program, which teaches kids how to stay safe from online threats, CNET reports.
"We don't often think about our children needing to worry about cyberattacks and having their information stolen, but it's crucial that our next generation is aware and well prepared to handle these challenges," says Garrison, who was inspired to start the program after his own daughter was a victim of a hacker.
In addition to teaching kids how to stay safe from online threats, Don't Click It, Pitch It! teaches parents how to keep their kids safe from phishing scams, malware, and more, according to a press release.
