Florida's Seminole County Public Schools is taking a "significant step forward" in health care by opening a state-of-the-art training center and simulation lab for clinic assistants and school nurses, per a press release.
The fully immersive center, which opened in early August, is designed "to equip school nurses and clinic assistants with advanced tools and education," according to the release.
It includes realistic scenarios for dealing with chronic conditions like asthma and diabetes, as well as areas for group training and discussion.
"Through initiatives like this, SCPS will be at the forefront of maintaining a high caliber Health Services program that other districts across the State of Florida can model," says the school district's medical and health coordinator.
