That's the message from Derrydean Dadzie, CEO of Heritors Labs, at a virtual conference last week in Ghana, where researchers and innovation startups were urged to find cheaper and long-term funding opportunities, the Guardian reports.
"The science and technology sector is the key to unlocking the full potential of Ghana, so it is imperative that researchers and innovation startups are well-positioned to secure funding," says Justina Mensah, a program officer at Impact Investing Ghana.
"This means that researchers and innovation startups have to be well-positioned to secure funding, including examining the funding positions and requirements of these investors," she says.
Venture capitals, angel investors, and crowdfunding are among the funding options being discussed at the Heritors Labs conference, which was held in partnership with the Research Institute for Science, Technology, Innovation and Research (RISA) Fund.
