Legacy Foundation Grants $25000 To Local Non Profits

The Legacy Foundation in Ottumwa, Iowa, is putting its money where its mouth is.

The foundation has awarded $25,000 in grants to six local nonprofits, including $10,000 to the Cardinal Youth Foundation to help with youth development and $15,000 to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition to translate patient guides to Spanish, the Ottumwa Courier reports.

"We are always looking to support new and innovative ideas and efforts that can have measurable impacts on the residents and communities in Wapello County," says the Legacy Foundation in a press release.

The grants were awarded to American Home Finding Association for furniture and materials for the new 3-bed Crisis Unit, E-B-F Rocket Rampage Robotics Team to support the CTE Work Cell for Robotics Coding, Ottumwa Community School Foundation for a new camera lens, Wapello County Children's Alliance to provide support for activities during Child Abuse Prevention Month in April, and the Cardinal Youth Foundation to assist with Camp Courageous Camper Scholarships.
