That's how Steve Bachand describes his $5 million donation to the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business, which will create the Stephen E.
Bachand University Professorship in support of business ethics.
Bachand and his wife, Phyllis, both members of the school's Principal Donors Society, made the donation last year, which was matched by an additional $5 million from the university's Bicentennial Professors Fund, the Wall Street Journal reports.
The Bachands' goal is to "foster ethical leadership and make a lasting impact on future generations of business leaders," the school says in a press release.
"I wish I had made this gift sooner because I am having so much fun seeing its impact unfold," Bachand tells the Journal.
"Starting something like this requires faith that it will make a difference, even if we may not see the full impact ourselves," he adds.
